In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, we used our voices to challenge how guidance was being misinterpreted and then implemented with devastating consequences, to stand up against what we perceived to be wrong and to unite like- minded activists. We liaised with other IPC experts and then patient groups to lobby for change at the highest level. We then worked with graphic designers to use art to bring to life key solutions to the prevailing problem.
The website we worked to create makes freely available a range of resources highlighting messages to advocate for compassionate IPC. They were supported by the group, Care Home Relatives Scotland. They are for anyone undertaking or supporting safe and compassionate human interaction in care homes to use; carers, family members, relatives, friends. They are also useful for leaders, at all levels, to understand more about they role in this topic.
